About the SI Opry
The SI Opry began as the brainchild of Southern Illinois heartland promoter Scott Winn in 2006. Feeling that there was a great deal of talent in Southern Illinois and the surrounding region as well as the midwest, Winn felt this type of event featuring Country, Bluegrass, and Gospel music along with Comedic talent, skits, etc. could provide a great family oriented event for the area.

In 2008 Winn decided it was time to see his dream come to fruition. He carefully selected a board of what he felt were some of the community's most qualified and committed individuals needed to make this type of event a success. The board began working together to plan the first show, which was held in March 2009 and was a tremendous success.

The SI Opry is a non-profit organization with a goal in mind of giving our area and regional talent a great venue to perform at, sell their merchandise, and expose themselves to a new group of people as well as draw their own fans to the venue.

About the SI Opry Founder
Scott D. Winn was born and raised in Marion, Illinois. His fathers interest in Country music and later Winn's own interest in both Gospel and Country music led him into promotions. Winn has been involved as a promoter for benefit and major concerts in the area for over fifteen years.

Having also worked in the Country Music Industry for a few years, managing a young upcoming Country Music recording artist gave Scott Winn a wealth of knowledge about the Country Music Industry, some great contacts in Nashville, and some great experiences. He has met with many of the legends in Country Music such as Porter Wagoner, Jean Shepard, Connie Smith, Little Jimmy Dickens, Jeannie Sealy, Mel Tillis, and Ricky Skaggs, and several newer artists such as Trace Adkins, Alan Jackson, Pam Tillis, Danielle Peck, Martina McBride, Pat Green, Cowboy Troy, Big and Rich and others. Winn also had the privilege of being a backstage guest at the Grand Ole Opry. "Standing backstage at the legendary Country Opry was an experience I will never forget and hope to do many times again; my dad never got to do that and I felt as if I could feel my dad standing there with me. He would have been so proud"
